Enhance your service desk’s professional appearance and accessibility by customizing your portal’s domain. By default, your portal is accessible via “yourportalname.hipporello.net”. However, to align more closely with your brand and make your portal easily identifiable, you can edit or set up a custom domain.
Follow these steps to personalize your service desk portal’s web address:
Setting Up a Custom Domain:
- Begin by accessing to the Hipporello Admin Panel.
- Navigate to “User Portal” and select “Domain Configuration” to access domain configuration options.
- Within the “Domain Configuration” section, you will find the option to “+ Add a Custom Domain.” Click this to initiate the customization of your portal’s domain.
- In the provided field, enter the URL you wish to use for your custom domain and then click “Add” to proceed.
Configuring DNS Settings:
- After specifying your custom domain, the next step involves updating your DNS settings. Visit your DNS provider’s management console to add a new CNAME record.
- Copy to CNAME record that Hipporello provides and save. This step is crucial for directing traffic from your custom domain to your Hipporello Marketing Request portal.
- Should your Domain Host request a TTL (Time-To-Live), you have the option to input a duration ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour, or alternatively, you may leave it empty.
The domain verification and activation process can take up to 24 hours.
By personalizing your service desk portal’s domain, you not only reinforce your brand identity but also provide a more streamlined and professional experience for your users. Custom domains can significantly enhance the visibility and credibility of your service desk, making it easier for users to remember and access your portal for their support needs.
